Dr. Andrew Schmidt
DO, MPH
Dr. Andrew Schmidt, DO, MPH is an Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine at The University of Florida-Jacksonville, where he serves as Deputy Medical Director for the Trauma-One Flight Program. His current research and teaching interests include pre-hospital medicine, drowning physiology and resuscitation, wilderness and surfing medicine, and Emergency Department-based critical care. Additional positions complimenting his interests are Medical Director for Jacksonville Beach Ocean Rescue and The Volunteer Lifesaving Corps, founder and director of Lifeguards Without Borders, Honorary Member of the International Drowning Researchers Alliance, and instructor for Surfing Medicine International. He is also currently an appointed member of the American Red Cross Scientific Advisory Council sub-committee on water safety.
